AGL Sierra Leone Invests Up to NLe 800,000 to Support Schools for Blind and Deaf Children

Freetown, Sierra Leone – September 2026: Africa Global Logistics (AGL) Sierra Leone has reaffirmed its commitment to inclusive education and community development through its Solidarity Day 2026 initiative under the AGL School for Prosperity programme.

The initiative provided support to two schools serving children who are blind and children who are deaf, with a total contribution valued at up to NLe 800,000.

Rather than applying a single approach to both schools, AGL developed interventions based on the specific needs of each institution.

Refurbishment and Food Support for the School for Children Who Are Blind

At the school for children who are blind, AGL carried out refurbishment works aimed at improving the school’s physical environment and creating a more conducive setting for the children.

The intervention was complemented by the donation of food items, providing additional support towards the daily welfare of the beneficiaries.

The refurbishment forms part of AGL’s commitment to supporting learning environments that promote dignity, comfort and inclusion for children with disabilities.

A New Playing Field for the School for Children Who Are Deaf

At the school for children who are deaf, AGL focused on creating a space that supports recreation, physical activity and social development.

As part of the initiative, the company constructed a playing field for the children, providing a dedicated outdoor space where they can play and participate in recreational activities.

AGL also donated food items to the school, ensuring that the intervention addressed both infrastructure and immediate welfare needs.

Supporting Education Through Practical Action

The two interventions demonstrate AGL’s approach to community investment: listening to the needs of beneficiaries and providing practical support that can make a tangible difference.

Through the AGL School for Prosperity programme, AGL continues to place education, inclusion and community well-being at the heart of its social responsibility initiatives.

The 2026 Solidarity Day initiative is another example of AGL’s commitment to making a positive contribution to the communities in which it operates — while reinforcing the belief that every child deserves an environment that supports learning, development, dignity and opportunity.

AGL Sierra Leone remains committed to building lasting partnerships and creating meaningful impact through education and community-focused initiatives.
