Freetown Terminal Limited (FTL) on 18 April 2026 successfully conducted a comprehensive “No to Drugs” sensitisation program in the Moa Wharf and Seaside communities, reinforcing its commitment to community wellbeing and responsible corporate citizenship.
The initiative brought togethler residents, youth groups, and local stakeholders for an engaging and educational session focused on the dangers of drug abuse, prevention strategies, and pathways to recovery. The program featured a lineup of experienced facilitators and speakers who addressed the issue from medical, psychological, and social perspectives.
Key presentations highlighted the growing impact of substance abuse on individuals and communities, with practical guidance on early warning signs, prevention, and the importance of seeking timely support. Participants also benefited from sessions led by professionals specializing in treatment and psychosocial support, who emphasized the role of family, community structures, and rehabilitation in overcoming addiction.
A notable contribution came from FTL’s Human Resources Manager, who underscored the organization’s dedication to fostering a safe and healthy environment both within the workplace and across its host communities. The message reinforced that drug prevention is a shared responsibility, requiring collaboration between institutions, families, and individuals.
One of the most impactful segments of the program was the testimonial session, where individuals with lived experiences shared their journeys through addiction and recovery. Their stories provided powerful, real-life insights and served as a strong source of inspiration for attendees, particularly young people.
The event also encouraged active participation through an interactive question-and-answer session, allowing community members to engage directly with experts and seek clarification on critical issues.
Through this initiative, Freetown Terminal Limited continues to demonstrate its commitment to social responsibility, community engagement, and the promotion of healthier lifestyles. The sensitization program not only raised awareness but also strengthened the collective resolve to combat drug abuse and build safer communities.
FTL remains dedicated to supporting initiatives that create lasting positive impact, reaffirming its role as a partner in the sustainable development of its host communities.
