The International Women’s day is the celebration of the social, economic, cultural, and political accomplishments of women worldwide. It’s a day to celebrate the strides made in the direction of gender equality as well as the work that remains to be done.
The United Nations choose “DigitALL: Innovation and technology for gender equality” as the theme for International Women’s Day this year. This theme draws attention to the gender gaps in STEM education and jobs as well as the online abuse that many women experience.
Freetown Terminal joins other organizations to reinforce the message of equity, equality, and giving women opportunity to thrive. Our guest speakers, Madam Naasau Fofana (A gender activists, author and entrepreneur), Madam Bintu Jalloh (Chief information officer; Sierra Leone Commercial Bank) , Memunatu Bora Jalloh (Assistant inspector general of police), Mr. Arnold Archer Campbell (Rev. Preacher) and Madam Trudy Morgan (President of the Sierra Leone Institute of Engineers) who are all very much involved in gender issues had inspiring messages delivered to staff.
