Africa Global Logistics, through Freetown Terminal Limited, has officially opened a newly constructed primary school in Mathengba Village, Makeni, reaffirming its commitment to supporting education and sustainable community development in Sierra Leone.
The opening ceremony brought together community leaders, local authorities, company representatives, parents, and schoolchildren to celebrate a milestone that is expected to have a lasting impact on education within the community. The project is designed to provide children in the village and surrounding areas with access to a safer and more conducive learning environment.
The initiative is in line with AGL’s “School for Prosperity Programme,” a corporate social responsibility initiative focused on improving access to education and creating opportunities for future generations. Through this programme, AGL continues to invest in projects that contribute meaningfully to the social and economic development of the communities in which it operates.
Speaking during the ceremony, representatives of the community expressed appreciation for the support provided by FTL and AGL, noting that the school will help address long-standing challenges related to access to education in the area. For many families in Mathengba Village, the new school represents hope, opportunity, and a brighter future for their children.
The event also highlighted the importance of education as a foundation for empowerment and national development. Beyond the construction of the facility, the project reflects a shared commitment to creating an environment where young people can learn, grow, and contribute positively to society.
As a responsible corporate institution, FTL remains committed to initiatives that promote inclusive growth, strengthen community relationships, and support national development priorities through impactful and sustainable interventions.
